Indrapura

We have been to Amsterdam five or six times from the US over the past 10 years. It was our GREAT fortune to find this 'gem' on our first trip, and everytime we go over, we go in for the 'Indrapura' Rijsttafel at least two or three times, and take friends and business associates with us. This menu choice is incredible, and the lobster is always prepared perfectly. However, they offer vegetarian dishes, and a wide variety of beautifully presented culinary treats. Their wine selection is nice, and the staff well trained in suggesting a choice of wines that will complement your food selections. Another benefit is the impecable service, there to meet every need, but not in your space -- whether conducting business or enjoying a romantic evening. After at least 15-20 visits, I can say that regardless of their crowd, this service is indicative of the an 'unrushed' manner in which they spoil their customers. The mgmt. of this restaurant seems flawless, and Michael keeps us coming back year after year, as he goes out of his way to make us feel that we've made a real friend in Amsterdam. This IS the best Indonesian food in Amsterdam, and it is our great pleasure to recommend them to everyone.

Good value, straightforward Indonesian restaurant, busy but they don't rush you. Family-friendly, pleasant atmosphere - I'm not reminded of any outstanding items on the menu but spent a pleasant evening there, with my palate happily titillated by several of the dishes.
