Whoever wrote the previous review obviously does not know the italian style. I have been to Ponte Arcari in Amsterdam and it was fantastic. The place is always full so getting the table can be tricky but the it is so worth it. It is a simple italian cooking and the place is in a very quiet area so you can enjoy your evening meal. Would recommend it 100%

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

The previous review has it absolutely correct. Do not go there, this business should be run into the ground. Their service is disgusting, their food is poor, only the location is attractive and inviting, and it fools tourists. They have no manners, the Italian staff are rude to customers, whom are 99% tourists and they will never have to see again.Their attitude is "there will always be more tourists". Clearly not a favourite with the locals either. Save your precious money, Amsterdam is expensive enough without being spat on by the service.

The fabulous Coco's Outback is a stone throw away, as is Pelangi, a nice Indonesian-Malaysian restaurant.

Ponte Arcari is quite possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life, their attitude to customers if totally outrageous and offensive. They quite happily slam doors in the face of customers and insult customers already inside the restaurant. I've never tried to book there, but having been in once, I know never to go back and to tell everyone else the same.

Save you from the trouble go to another restaurant. They get reservations over the phone just to assure they will fill the table, however if the table is already taken you will have to wait outside and last Saturday temperature in Amsterdam was -5C. when I asked why do they take reservations if they have no intention to keep the table waiting for you at the agreed time, I was told to find another restaurant and never come back there. Nice, isn’t it?
