Selecta

I was so dissapointed in this restaurant. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for the meal to arrive. When it did arrive it was nothing special. The staff were unfriendly and not helpful. They were too busy to even provide the usual menu apparently and only offered us a small selection. I would never visit this restaurant again and cannot understand how it remains open. My advice, if you are thinking of going to this restuarant -don't bother, a cheap kebab in the red light district is better and has more class.

Probably one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. Staff was unhelpful and service extremly slow. There was a visible difference in attitude to local customers and tourists. Food quality comparable to my local chinese take away. All in all, Selecta gets 0 points from me.

Terrible service. We had to wait one and half an hour to get our food and could only order rijstafel as we were told the staff is too busy to make usual meals. Plus the restaurant was non-smoking but several guests were smoking and even offered ashtrays by the staff. When we asked for permission to smoke we were asked to go outside. Food was not bad, however the one and half an hour of waiting!

I have been visiting the Selecta since the year it opened (20 years ago) and the standard has not dropped during that time. Whlst it has a full range of dishes the rijstafel are excellent.

The fact that it is frequently full of indonesian parties is testament to its quality.
