Delicious food, interesting and well-cooked. We chose the 'surprise menu', and everything was tasty and well-presented, fresh ingredients and good flavours, though a few more vegetables would have made it perfect. It's a big building (or series of interconnecting houses) but we were delighted to eat in a small room with an intimate atmosphere . We went in early December - apparently the few weeks before Christmas are a good time for small groups to go, as office parties are too big for the small rooms, which are therefore relatively quiet. We certainly had attentive, well-spaced and knowledgeable service, and will go again.

We had dinner for four and collectively found the food to be very mediocre with only the dessert being of interest. The setting is ok and the wine list comprehensive with dessert wines by the glass. The experience generally was a disapointment and poor value an bad service of the waiter Kees

a wonderful restaurant with old world atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly service. We first visited the "five flies" on our honeymoon in 1968 and enjoyed a wonderful chateau briand steak. We have returned on each visit to Amsterdam, sadly only 3 times, but each visit has been just as enjoyable.highly recommended for that special occasion.
